History

Primo 1861 traces its name to the year Pedro Camarena Ramírez was born and opened the first tequila tavern in the Jesús María-Arandas area, in a family line that helped found Arandas in 1761 and first brought blue agave to the region. Six successive generations of men named Pedro Camarena have carried the legacy to today's brand, made artisanally with stone-oven cooking, wild-yeast fermentation in oak vats, and copper-pot distillation.
